Crooked Shaft Whitetail Hunts
Crooked Shaft Outfitters will be hosting a limited number of hunters wanting the experience of hunting South Central Kansas or North Central Oklahoma whitetails in the fall of 2008.
We offer Kansas Archery, Muzzleloader and Rifle hunts in Units 15 & 16in Harper County. The hunts will be limited to up to four hunters per week.
Our Oklahoma hunts takes place in Grant County and will be limited to up to two hunters per week. All of our hunts are five-day hunts.
We have over 6000 acres in South Central Kansas and North Central Oklahoma that have had very little hunting pressure. Your stand sites are scouted and placed to give you the best chance at a trophy whitetail. Our goal is to give you a memorable hunt with the best possible chance at harvesting a trophy class whitetail. And since these deer are wild and free there are no trophy fees or penalties. We do encourage you to shoot a mature buck, but our philosophy is that a trophy is in the eye of the hunter and the memories of the hunt.
The hunt packages include lodging and food, (our two bedrooms, one-bathroom lodge has a living room and fully equipped kitchen, but we are bowhunters, not cooks. We stock the kitchen with food, but you have to cook it. Click here for pictures.) The packages also include transportation to and from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport, if you chose to fly in, and transportation to and from your stand sites. We will also track, field dress, and transport your deer to a processing facility, but all processing, shipping, and taxidermy fees are the hunters responsibility.
For a Kansas hunt, you will have to obtain a non-resident hunting license ($72.50) and a non-resident deer tag through the draw ($322.50). Kansas has increased the number of tags for Non-Residents so that almost all that apply will get drawn. We can sell you the hunting license when you arrive.
For an Oklahoma hunt, you may purchase your hunting license and deer tags over the counter or on-line at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation website.
If you reserve a spot and do not draw a tag, your money will be returned or used for a reservation for the next year.
A 50 % deposit is required for a reservation.
